There are numerous mathematical methods used to obtain efficient solutions to a variety of complex business problems. This mini-course mainly covers two classes of techniques within the prescriptive analytics domain: constrained optimization and decision making under uncertainty. It provides students with the ability to formulate a business problem as a mathematical model, and then to use quantitative techniques to identify a solution. Emphases will be given to the applications of optimization techniques in various business areas including supply chain, marketing and international business.
Optimization models (3.5 hours): this session is designed to introduce students to a variety of optimization models that are commonly used in practice.

邵鲁生简介：
墨尔本大学商业与经济学院管理与市场系高级讲师（英制），运营管理领域负责人。悉尼大学商学院运营管理与商务分析博士，红足1一世足球网官方网站管理学院优秀校友。主要从事运营与供应链管理研究，包括供应链竞争、合同及激励机制、可持续运营等，在Operations Research，Production and Operations Management，Decision Sciences，European Journal of Operational Research等国际顶级或主流期刊上公开发表十多篇论文。国际顶级期刊POM编审委员会成员。
